| Electric Utilities |
Working with Millennial Net, the utilities are developing new “Green” energy incentive programs to reduce energy consumption, greenhouse gas emissions and forgo the need for building more power generating capacity. Since public, commercial and industrial buildings are a major consumer of power for HVAC and other needs, business managers need to become “smarter consumers” with the means to identify and control consumption, based on actual data that is now possible to acquire using wireless sensing technology. The electric utilities recognize the need to partner with technology suppliers and empower customers even before the “Smart Grid” becomes a reality.

| Demand Management |
Utilities today can offer incentives for their customers to control energy consumption in the manner that will reduce “peak” demand periods. This saves them from purchasing expensive electricity on the open market and helps to minimize the impact of “brownouts”. It requires the capability to monitor energy consumption then control it by turning off consuming devices (such as air conditioning) for short periods with minimal impact on the operations. Being able to monitor temperature and adjust systems accordingly is therefore a key requirement.
